I have spent so much time
in the darkness and fighting it.
I felt my duty to my Lord Jesus,
is to fight and hold back
the darkness that eats away at this world.
I thought I needed
to earn my place
in the Kingdom of Light
known as God’s Kingdom.
You have proven me wrong
in such a gorgeous way.
My instincts tell me to stand and fight.
You have welcomed me into a place I can rest
that isn’t the front line.
To me,
you are a light from the Kingdom
that guides me to a safe haven
that I can be restored.
You want to fight to protect me,
when I feel is should be me
protecting you.
Perhaps we can fight together
to protect each other
and serve our Lord together.
When our labors in this world are done,
let us enter the Kingdom together,
with hands held.
