About Ian

My Wife and I

I have Asperger’s Syndrome, a high functioning form of Autism.  When I was diagnosed in the early 90s, experts at the time said I wouldn’t be able to graduate High School.  I graduated from a public school system in Northern Michigan with an average GPA and continued on to go on to receive an Associate’s Degree and a Certificate of Development.

I doesn’t give himself enough credit for these accomplishments.  Even though I have combined his two self-published collections of poetry into an Anthology and receives praise for my work, I feel I needs to do more.  I feel everything I do is one stepping stone to the next stepping stone.  My destination is unknown. But as I have learned, the destination is unimportant, it is the journey that matters.

Giving Back

I am a firm believer in giving back to the community.  After all I have been through with all the support I has been given over the years, I feel to not give back would mean everything I have accomplished up to this point means nothing.  I have hopes all my efforts will bring hope to others.  If I do get recognition for my efforts, I usually accept it and shake it off.  I don’t think I deserves recognition for doing what I feels is right.

A Man of Faith

I am a follower of Jesus.  I doesn’t talk much about matters of the faith because I considers as one piece of who I am.  I was baptized on July of 2018.  I consider the baptism a public display of giving himself to the service of the Lord.  I’m not much of a spreader of the Gospel, but I am a testament to how you can return to to the Light after being lost in Darkness for a number of years.  I have a ways to go, but I have come a long way in terms of faith and life in general.

For Fun

For fun I enjoy writing, board games, trading card games, and other collection games  like Magic: The Gathering,  Yu-Gi-Oh, Dice Masters, and HeroClix.  I’m not very competitive in these games.  If I win, great.  If I lose, no need to get frustrated.  If I get beaten severely multiple times in a row, I may be a bit agitated.  Then again, who wouldn’t.
