Autism for Life is a poetry collection full of encouragement and a very strong sense of community bonding. Everyone on the spectrum is different. But we are all in a somewhat similar situation. We live in a world that doesn’t want to accept us. So the Autism Community can be viewed as a giant family. My new favorite phrase when talking to those on the spectrum, “We may not share blood, but we are family”.
It may sound a bit corny and may be a bit extremist. But it feels true overall. We are family.
